Set for refilling a gray Smart Cartridge
If you want to outsmart the cutthroats, then this hack is for you.
You get:
1x plug for the water filter
1 liter refill granules
1x refill funnel
Here’s how to proceed:
➡️ Make a 10 mm hole at the top of your used Jura Smart cartridge.
➡️ Empty the old granules and clean the filter cartridge to ensure it remains hygienic.
➡️ Fill in new granules and close the opening with a silicone cork.
➡️ Only fill to about 4/5, as the granules swell when they come into contact with water.
➡️ Insert the cartridge into the tank.
➡️ Cut an aluminum foil to size and stick it over the Jura water inlet.
Two small strips of Sellotape are enough to attach it. Cut out the filler hole and attach the tank. Done!
The aluminum foil interrupts communication between the filter's RFID chip and the Jura. The message "Filter capacity is exhausted" no longer appears. The Jura starts with the "No Filter" setting.
That's it. Here's a video tutorial we found on YouTube. Regular aluminum foil is sufficient, but a Tetra Pak might be too thick:
