The connections are so-called "Quick Connect Fittings". These are installed in the cartridge during the manufacturing process. Multi-stage filtration
Unlike most filters, this water filter is not just filled with activated carbon granules, but with an activated carbon block with a 5µm filter fineness.
Suspended solids larger than 5µm (5 thousandths of a millimeter) are retained, such as suspended particles and micro-sediments like rust, sand, lime particles, etc.
The high-quality activated carbon made from genuine coconut shells reduces mechanical impurities, chlorine, pesticides, heavy metals, and many organic chemicals.

This filter fits all refrigerator models that have an external water filter. The external water filters are installed in the 6 mm (1/4") plastic tube that is connected to the cold water line.

Filter replacement
According to the manufacturer's recommendations, you should always replace the water filter if:

• the corresponding warning light on your refrigerator lights up (model dependent),
• the refrigerator has not been used for a longer period of time,
• if there is an odor or the water becomes cloudy,
• or as a precaution according to the German Drinking Water Ordinance (TwVo), at least every 6 months, even if the filter has a higher capacity!
