CARBONIT® filter cartridges combine water filtration with improved water taste. During the sintering process, a special EM ceramic is added to the activated carbon filter. This ceramic reduces the surface tension of the water and the size of the carbon clusters. As a result, most people describe the water's taste as softer or smoother.
Combined with the proven filtration performance of CARBONIT® NFP Premium filter technology, this results in ideal water filtration. Activated carbon has a large surface area, which is used as an adsorbent in various fields, including chemistry, medicine, and water and wastewater treatment. It primarily removes unwanted color, taste, and odor from gases, vapors, and liquids. The sintered, coconut-based activated carbon block filter focuses on the chemical and physical removal of unwanted substances from drinking water, such as those caused by the building's plumbing.
Service life: The filter cartridge must be changed after 6 months (according to DIN 1988). Generally, 10,000 liters of water may be filtered within these 6 months. However, an earlier change may be necessary if the water flow is noticeably reduced. An early change is not a defect of the filter itself, but rather an indication of an increased presence of fine particles in the unfiltered water.
