Carbonit Kalk compact cartridge against limescale in water
The new Carbonit Kalk compact filter cartridge is a combined activated carbon and ion exchange resin cartridge. It combines the special properties of a sintered activated carbon block with water softening through ion exchange resin.
The water first flows through an ion exchange resin, reducing its overall hardness. The downstream activated carbon block removes dissolved pollutants, impurities of odor and taste, and retains particles. A silver coating on the activated carbon ensures hygienic safety.
Application area Carbonit Kalk compact:
For water filtration in the kitchen before dispensing (point of use), primarily in SanUno and Vario appliances. The Carbonit Kalk kompakt cartridge improves the taste of cold and hot beverages (especially for enhancing the aroma of tea and coffee), protects household appliances from limescale buildup, and supports the preparation of healthy meals.

Pollutant retention of the Carbonit Kalk compact:
- Removal of odor and taste impairments including chlorine
- Removal of dissolved organic compounds
- Particle retention from 10µm
- Descaling (total hardness) optionally to 0, 50 or 75% of the initial value
Instructions for use of Carbonit Kalk kompakt:
Use only with cold water, protect from frost
- The adjustment to the hardness of the incoming water is made via bypass bores (see operating instructions)
- A test strip for measuring the incoming water hardness is included with the filter cartridge.
- The flow rate of the filter cartridge is limited to 1.9 l/min to ensure sufficient contact time between the water and the ion exchange resin for optimal hardness reduction.
- The softening effect can be clearly demonstrated using standard measuring equipment.
- The cartridge is for single use only; disposal should be in normal household waste.
Only drinking water quality may be used as input water. The silver coating on the activated carbon ensures hygienic safety but does not provide a microbiological barrier. Descaling solutions with a bacteria barrier are available as dual units: Carbonit DUO Kalk.
