The PI®-POWER COMPACT technology stands for uncompromising quality – even when cleaning tap water. Even if it complies with the applicable drinking water ordinance, it often contains substances that have no place in healthy water. Therefore, exclusively reverse osmosis in a direct flow system is used for pre-purification.
"Reverse osmosis devices remove nitrate, sulfate, chloride, sodium, and hardness-forming substances, as well as undissolved substances such as colloidal iron, silicic acid, and asbestos fibers from the water. The permeate (purified water) is not to be equated with distilled or deionized water, as a certain residual salt content remains in the water."

The PI®-POWER COMPACT technology uses the most modern and safest reverse osmosis system on the market, the so-called "Direct Flow" reverse osmosis ("The new generation of reverse osmosis devices" – quote from Dr. Barbara Hendel, author of "Water and Salt", "Water at its Purest"). This technology delivers over 1.5 liters of the purest water per minute "at the push of a button" – without a storage tank. The amount of wastewater per liter of reverse osmosis water is extremely low: only about 1.2 liters. Reverse osmosis is the most effective form of water purification. All substances mentioned during filtration (see above) are removed by 96 to 99%. In addition, reverse osmosis frees the water from: hardness-forming substances, fluoride, chloride, nitrate, nitrite, sulfate, and arsenic. Even highly toxic radionuclides (e.g., Radium 226, Radium 228, Uranium) are rejected by the reverse osmosis membrane.

Reverse osmosis purified PI® water therefore meets the criteria of the World Health Organization (WHO) for "suitability for baby food".

The combination of PI® technology with reverse osmosis has another health advantage: Due to its special purity, the detoxifying effect of the PI® water is enhanced – it reaches the quality of the best low-mineral, "living" spring waters (for example, "Lauretana – The lightest water in Europe", "Mont Rouccous", or "Plose").

The 2012 model is a further development of the PI®-POWER-COMPACT technology.

Model 2012 is equipped with 2 pre-filters (sediment and carbon) as well as 2 membranes, type 150 GPD.

The reverse osmosis of the 2012 model can be installed lying down under the base in many kitchens, as it is very narrow and has a water-cooled motor.

*The stated yield is only possible under optimal conditions at approx. 25°C water temperature. Under unfavorable circumstances (lower water temperature, high limescale content, etc.), the yield can be up to approx. 1:2. 1 liter of permeate (pure water) per 2 liters of concentrate (wastewater). The amount of wastewater generated by rinsing the membrane was not taken into account in the yield information.

• Requirements for the input water (before reverse osmosis)

  1. The input water must comply with the Drinking Water Ordinance!
  2. The raw water temperature should be between 4 and 40°C.
  3. The raw water pressure must be above 1.7 bar.
  4. The raw water TDS content (sum of all dissolved substances) must be below 600 ppm (1200 µS) (for values above this, please send a water analysis and request special information).
  5. The raw water hardness should be below 25° dH (for values above 25° dH, please send a water analysis and request special information on pre-softening)

Checking the goods: Please check your system, replacement filters, or spare parts for transport damage immediately upon receipt. To do this, also remove the cover of your system to check the interior.

Commissioning: The system must be connected and put into operation within max. 7 days to avoid potential bacterial contamination. When installing the system, be sure to observe the flushing times listed in the installation instructions (reverse osmosis 20 min., entire system incl. PI-Cell Vitalizer an additional 20 min.). The pre-filters can be stored in their original packaging for up to 3 years.
