The filter cartridges manufactured by CARBONIT® combine water filtration with an improvement in the taste of the water. For their production, a special EM ceramic is added to the activated carbon filter during the sintering process. Among other things, this ceramic reduces the surface tension of the water and reduces the size of the cluster structures. As a result, most people describe the taste of the water as softer or rounder.
Together with the proven filter performance of the CARBONIT® NFP Premium filter technology, this results in ideal water filtration. Activated carbon has a large surface area, which is used as an adsorbent in fields such as chemistry, medicine, and water and wastewater treatment. It primarily removes undesirable color, taste, and odor substances from gases, vapors, and liquids. The sintered coconut-based activated carbon block filter focuses on the chemical-physical removal of undesirable substances in drinking water, e.g., from the effects of household plumbing.
Service life: The filter cartridge must be replaced after 6 months (in accordance with DIN 1988). In principle, 10,000 liters of water may be filtered within these 6 months. An earlier replacement may be necessary, however, if the water flow is noticeably reduced. An early replacement is not a defect in the filter used, but an indication of an increased occurrence of fine particles in the unfiltered water.
