These water softening cartridges for kitchen use contain a special ion-exchange granulate with a high capacity to remove calcium and magnesium, which cause hardness, from the water. This softens the water. Limescale and magnesium ions are exchanged for harmless soda ions (sodium carbonate). Hard water causes limescale deposits in water supply pipes, heating systems, washing machines, and many household appliances. The limescale, iron, and magnesium particles dissolved in the water ruin clothing, dry out the skin, and spoil the taste of food and drinks. The filter cartridges are specially designed so that the water flows through the entire ion-exchange granulate, ensuring maximum filtration efficiency.
