Carbonit Kalk kompakt cartridge against limescale in water
The new Carbonit Kalk kompakt filter cartridge is a combined activated carbon and ion exchange resin cartridge. It combines the unique properties of a sintered activated carbon block with the water softening properties of ion exchange resin.
The ion exchange resin, which flows first, reduces the overall hardness of the water. The downstream activated carbon block removes dissolved pollutants, impairs odors and taste, and traps particles. A silver coating on the activated carbon ensures hygienic safety.
Application area Carbonit Kalk kompakt:
For point-of-use water filtration in the kitchen, primarily in SanUno and Vario appliances. The Carbonit Kalk kompakt cartridge improves the taste of cold and hot beverages (especially for enhancing the aroma of tea and coffee), protects household appliances from limescale buildup, and supports healthy food preparation.

Pollutant retention of Carbonit Kalk kompakt:
- Removal of odor and taste impurities including chlorine
- Removal of dissolved organic compounds
- Particle retention from 10ym
- Decalcification (total hardness) optionally to 0, 50 or 75% of the initial value
Instructions for use of Carbonit Kalk kompakt:
- Use only with cold water, protect from frost
- The hardness of the inlet water is adjusted via bypass holes (see operating instructions)
- A test strip is included with the filter cartridge to measure the inlet hardness
- The flow rate of the filter cartridge is limited to 1.9 l/min in order to achieve an optimal hardness reduction through a sufficient contact time of the water with the ion exchange resin
- The softening effect can be clearly proven using commercially available measuring technology
- The cartridge can only be used once and should be disposed of in normal household waste
- Only drinking water quality may be used as the inlet water. The silver coating of the activated carbon ensures hygienic safety, but is not a microbiological barrier. Descaling solutions with a bacterial barrier are available as dual units: Carbonit DUO Kalk
