Limescale protection
The integrated limescale protection granules create tiny seed crystals to which the hardness-causing mineral calcium binds. The crystallized limescale is completely passive and can no longer adhere to surfaces; dissolved limescale is transformed into insoluble and non-adherent calcium carbonate. Thus, the limescale protection granules provide extensive protection against limescale deposits for the entire lifespan of the cartridge; limescale buildup in kettles, coffee machines, on tiles and sinks, etc., is virtually eliminated, and tea and coffee taste noticeably better with this limescale treatment. The granules are, of course, food-safe and biologically neutral.
Filtration
The Premium Dualis, like the NFP Premium, consists of a 0.45 µm coconut-based activated carbon block. It reliably and naturally removes pharmaceutical residues, heavy metals such as lead and copper, hormone-like substances, chlorine (a plasticizer), organic chemical compounds like herbicides and pesticides, sediment, and unpleasant tastes or odors from the water; this activated carbon is currently virtually unrivaled. With a flow rate of well over 2 liters per minute, it is ideally suited for use with the stainless steel water vortexer, the Wirbel-Ei.
Removing old limescale deposits: During this limescale treatment, carbonic acid bound in the water releases microscopically small bubbles, the so-called 'micro-bubbles', which ensure the rapid and automatic removal of old limescale deposits in kettles, coffee machines and other hot water appliances.

The filter cartridge offered by Carbonit is manufactured using coconut charcoal in a process that is currently unsurpassed. The extremely homogeneous charcoal structure results in highly effective and, above all, consistently stable pollutant adsorption capacity.
