Minerals in the water are important or harmful to our body?
There are two opinions on this point. One side says that good and important minerals are in the water for our bodies. The other side argues that minerals in water are inorganic and can not be used anyway , or even harmful and accumulate in the body. To anticipate predict it right : all inorganic minerals are , even if they are of plant origin. Is probably meant here is that minerals are bound to organic food to chelates . These chelates allow three to ten times higher absorption of minerals in the body, because amino acids are used as means of transport , and so are the trace elements in the small intestine for absorption immediately available. The ( " inorganic " ) minerals which are not bound to chelates , are " resolved" to a large extent in the stomach and thus have a lower bioavailability. However, our body gets its supplies of minerals from the food that you would have to drink tons liters of water to the daily requirement of minerals from water to cover . The task of the water is therefore not a mineral supply, water is mainly used as a transport and solvent. To perform this task well , water should be as free of contaminants and residues . This is most effectively achieved by the steam distillation or reverse osmosis . However, since certain minerals as a flavor carrier for coffee or tea are necessary, you can safely use a mineral cartridge to easily mineralize your previously and pure demineralized water. If it tastes good to you without minerals , enjoy it . The old tale that leads the permanent drinking demineralized ( distilled ) water to death , has long been disproved The die (" inorganic " ) deposited minerals in your entire body ( as in the washing machine), probably belongs in the realm of fables ( us is in any case no relevant study that would prove that). Conclusion : Your water should be pure and vital, if you want it back afterwards slightly mineralized , in the truest sense of the word is a matter of taste .
Why is there such a large price differences for reverse osmosis systems?
At very inexpensive reverse osmosis systems ( around 100 EUR ) the cheapest components are chosen frequently , which are manufactured from highly dubious materials. These components are usually produced in Asia and sometimes do not meet the strict European or American standards for materials that come into contact with drinking water. On the other hand, let the most recognized reverse osmosis system manufacturers often also manufacture your parts in Asia or Eastern Europe. The difference here , however , which is produced under license , or in order, which are in strict compliance with the regulations in the U.S. or Europe. Such quality cost money and are not to have " super cheap " . On the other side of the price scale you often find multi-level marketing ( network marketing) that offer your (sometimes very high ) plants very expensive. Ask your provider but simply times how much you would earn on the sale of these investments as a partner. If you then he explains the distribution system , how many people earn in the sale of an investment , you will quickly realize why these systems are so expensive . - The golden road is , as so often , in the middle.
How can I recognize quality reverse osmosis systems ?
Quality systems you see e.g. the fact that they have such as John Guest quick connectors or other quick - connectors , and not just simple so-called Jaco fittings . These are inexpensive but also cumbersome screw , which tend to break easily depending on the material and where you can register as a client may injure your fingers .
Quality systems often have a faucet with ceramic valve ( secure closure , bacteria can penetrate the heavier side of the tap into the system) . Many systems have mostly only a simple rocker - safe ceramic faucet without valve .
On the tube material , the manufacturer , the maximum should . Resilience and the approval for drinking water to be seen , with inexpensive systems , the tubing is often loaded bar only through 7.
Pay attention to the installation of high quality membranes ( Made in USA) as DOW Filmtec membranes , Applied or GE , are sometimes installed cost membranes dubious origin .
In high-quality systems, you often get more than just the statutory warranty of two years.
Comparable labor costs are far lower than in Germany in the U.S., built in Germany, systems can still be effective, was saved without the elsewhere ?
Can I be sure of acquiring a really good system for you?
Yes , nothing that we can not provide a warranty of 5 years for all our reverse osmosis systems. We buy directly from the manufacturer or wholesale importer , without expensive middlemen . Let us know if you find an equivalent system which is favorable to have .
Which filters are best self in a crisis or in an emergency ?
In a crisis, you should use a handy little filter that works without electricity and tap water pressure. Here, the Swiss company Katadyn water filters are suitable . We recommend the Katadyn Pocket Filter ( 20-year warranty , very durable , protection against bacteria ) or the Katadyn Combi filter. The Combi filter not only protects against bacteria, but reduced by its upstream activated carbon filters and chemicals. For extremely contaminated ( polluted ) water, we recommend the Katadyn Survivos 06th This is the only known reverse osmosis filter for manual operation which requires no mains water pressure.
